This song is called “So I Can’t Dance” and it is one of the songs I created for the 30 Days of AI Song project I’ve been working on for June 2023.
This idea has been with me for a long time. I think I first thought of it as a “screen name” or “alter ego” but I don’t think I used it… I used other hard to figure out words and phrases like “mystical perplexity” and “Xander The Mighty” but “So I Can’t Dance” was always meant to be a song.
I think I used it as a poetry title at one point… but only because I can’t really write a song… at least I could express the emotion as some kind of creative work! And if the technology ever comes along to make a more… in depth song, I will remake the song again.
As you might imagine, the song is about my in-ability to dance… ultimately, I have managed it in a few college musicals but mostly I was on the box or on the risers in high school choirs. I wasn’t blowing anyone away with my dance moves… and my medical condition pretty much ensures that I won’t be busting any fancy moves in the future.
Anywhat, I used ChatGPT for the structure of the song with a bit of my own personal writing mojo. Then, of course, the music and vocals were created with songr.ai!
For the image, I used Leonardo AI to create something with a bit more of a hand drawn look. I’m not sure why the AI made such a tiny stage but the guy is dancing while only one foot is on the stage which would be pretty impressive were it me… his hand is all confident in the air. It’s not an impressive image… but I feel like it fits for this!
